Recession stalls Ekta’s channel launch

After her serials going off air and her films not striking success at the box-office, now its producer Ekta Kapoor’s channel that will not be launched. The soap queen who was on the verge of launching her own entertainment channel will have to put it on hold due to recession. Though Ekta had invested and applied for the broadcast license of her channel, after her rift with Star India.
Ekta’s Balaji Telefilms Ltd along with Star India had plans to launch regional channels, however the delay in these plans led to a fall out between the two. She had then planned to start her own channel almost a year ago, but recession did play spoilt sport. The channel would air daily soaps and reality shows. With the delay of her new project we wonder what Ekta’s plans for her future are? Will we see the staple Saas Bahu sagas played out of Balaji’s stable?
